CS800 Programming Microphone Buttons
Has anyone figured out how to program the microphone buttons?
Per Chris from connect systems, " programming the mic buttons other than menus operation is not yet supported." They are expecting a firmware update in the future to give us the ability to do so.
CS800 Important instructions for updating firmware or code plug

CS800 – EXTERNAL SPEAKER MODIFICATION
DIODE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

CS800 front panel removable
1. Is the front panel removable? If so, how? I see a latch on the side of the CS800, but can’t seem to make this work to release the front panel.
2. Is there a slot behind the front panel to plug in an SD card, or is the SD memory fixed and built into the CS800?
ANSWER:::
No slot for SD card....
The latch you see on the side of the front panel is the key....
Front panel slides off to other side... it was new and takes a little effort, but comes off cleanly....
When you slide the front panel off, watch out for the short cable. You will have to unplug it as you remove the head.
The piece the front panel slides into, will come off of the radio with 4 screws, I mounted it on the dash, then slid the head back into it's slots. Made a slick installation.
I used shielded cat 5 and have had no problems.
Use standard CAT 5 cable to remote front panel to radio....
Use a shielded CAT 5 cable. Otherwise you'll get TDMA choppy noises on TX.
[CS800DMR] Talkaround Issue - glitches are annoying

But the few glitches are annoying at times, seems I can't carry on a conversation on the radio because I sometime cannot here the reply.. also it will sometimes not transmit out even though the red light is on indicating transmit.
[CS800DMR] Talkaround Issue
I went in and looked around and didn't seen an option to turn it on and off either. These are the radio options that fewer people try in the beginning because they

Now the Button settings for normal cruising down the road. Granted these are my preferences for reasons explained. Your mileage, and or desires may vary. The principle factor for me is eyes-on-road, not on radio operation.
In keeping with the Menu Prior & Next Setting, I wanted P2 and P3 to serve as Prior Zone (down), or Next Zone(up).
Without two knobs on the radio, I want my sole knob to serve as channel selector in order to dial my way up or down through the channels one by one with a twist of P8. Having now dedicated that knob to channel activities, I also set the P7 (Push-In) to trigger scan on and off with the channels in the zone I am dialed into.
